Principle Investigator

Mohammad Alhawari is an Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering at Wayne State University, Detroit, USA. Prior to joining Wayne State University, he was a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at Khalifa University from 2016 to 2018. He earned a Ph.D. from Khalifa University in 2016, a M.Sc. from Masdar Institute in 2012 and a B.Sc. from Yarmouk University in 2008, All in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research interest focuses on energy harvesting and power management circuits, wireless power/data transfer, portable/implantable healthcare systems and bioelectronics medicine.

Ph.D. Students

Haysam M. Kadry is a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Wayne State University. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn (Graduate School of Rackham) in 2010. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 2006. He has 10+ years of experience in the automotive industry. His experience is in electronic hardware design and is currently a research engineer at Ford Motor Company leading research on high frequency/ high-speed circuits and PCB design for analog and digital communication protocols.

Abdullah S. Aloqlah is a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Wayne State University, He earned his Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University (College Station) in 2015 and the Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Yarmouk University (Jordan) in 2009. He has extensive experience in Automotive, PMIC products testing and characterization through his work at Qualcomm Inc (San Diego) between 2016-2018.

Shiva Maleki Varnosfaderani received her M.S.c degree in Electrical Engineering with the focus on "Hardware Implementation Face Detection Systems Based on Wavelet Networks", from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Isfahan, Iran in 2015 where she worked on Hardware design and image processing for development of face detection system based on wavelet networks. She got her B.S.c degree also from Isfahan University of Technology in 2012 majoring in electrical engineering. From 2015 to 2019, she held the position of a Laboratory Professor at the Isfahan Payame Noor University and Research and Develelopment (R&D) in different companies. Her research interest is machine learning algorithms for health care systems and biomedical ICs.

Melvin D. Edwards II received his B.Sc in Electrical Engineering in 2017 from Wayne State University. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, USA, where he is focusing on Analog and Mixed Signal Circuit Design. His current research interests are in Continuous and Discrete Time Comparator Design for high resolution and low power, Flash ADC(Analog to Digital Converters)s, and TDCs(Time to Digital Converters). He currently holds a position at ZF Automotive as EMC Test Engineer.
